Donating emergency water treatment units to Indonesia
The western part of Java Island in Indonesia experienced continuous rain in January 2013. The rain caused massive flooding in and around Jakarta on the night of January 16, resulting in serious damage to the city’s urban infrastructure, including water supply.
In this situation, PT Swing Indonesia (SIC) (President: Hajime Rikiishi), an affiliate of Swing Corporation based in Indonesia, donated emergency water treatment units to the following organizations and government agencies.
The company donated five units to PAM JAYA (Jakarta water utility), which were immediately installed at three locations within the city to supply clean water to the public. It also donated four units to the West Jakarta administration.
The ceremony of donation to the West Jakarta administration was attended by the West Jakarta Mayor, who saw the operation of the water treatment units seriously.
SIC will continue donation activities. It already has decided to donate water treatment units to the Tangerang administration, the Padang water authority, and the Jakarta public works agency.
